Hi, Trying to help my cute neighbor. She is having a problem with her door lock system. Sometimes when its raining her locks will automaticly lock and unlock without her doing a thing. It also causes the alarm system to activate at times. Also her charging system idiot light will at times come on when it rains. She has a newer battery and a rebuilt alternator. Van has less than 100K at it at this time. She is afraid to leave her keys in the igniyion when she is pumping gas because she believes that the possesed Mazda may lock her out. Please HELP! Thanks.

 

I have not seen that one but i would start under the hood and check for corroded connections,especially at the altenator.Check the body grounds under the hood also. They can cause issues like that.It is just one of those problems that you just have to search for the poor connection. It could be anywhere from the ignition switch to the battery.

 

Thanks. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen - The doors will lock and unlock as she drives down the road. I think that bothers her more than the alarm....
