tried everything to remove radio, help!!!
I need to remove the stock stereo to put in RCA adapters but i cant remove the unit. I tried every way i could think of using the U-shaped removal keys but couldnt make any progress. Does anybody out there have any ideas/insight? Please help!!!
What year millenia do you have mrsegal21? Guess does not really matter as they are al basically the same. You are using a total of 4 tools to remove the radio is in the diagram below. Make sure when inserting the tools that the ball tip ends are forced away from the radio as you are trying to engage the spring clips inside. Once all four are installed then spread the tools outward. There should be some spring tension in all four and pull straight out. Have run accross a few here and there where the clips were too badly bent outward to allow tools to engage though.

It is a '96. I cursed my car for about 3 hours, wiggling those tools every direction i could concieve, got nowherebut crackeda little plastic edging. i wondered if there was maybe some vital step i wasnt aware of??
you have to get the din tools that have little ***** one the ends. when you insert each tool, you will feel/hear them snap into place. you then kinda pull the tools outward, and kinda jiggle the radio up and down, also pull outward slightly. sometimes it helps if you break one side free, then the other. once it comes out just a tad, you can pull it out easily. if you dont feel/hear the tools snap into place, then the clip(s) might be broke. i had this happen. i had to basically take apart the console, then reach in and compress the clips by hand. it is easy to take it apart, but there are several pieces involved.
