my 2000 mazda millenia just started over heating today but only when i turn on my a/c ... but the crazy thing is soon as i turn off my a/c it goes back to normal in seconds! anyone have or have had this problem ?? if so what was wrong ? i really dont want to pay alot of money if its something cheap that we can fix ourselfs oh yeah and when i turn on my a/c feels like my car is pulling

 

i would suspect one or both of the fans are not coming on. when you turn on the a/c, you should hear/see both of the fans behind the radiator come on. if they dont, you need to check if they are ok, you can hotwire each and see if they come on. if they do, then you need to backtrack, and try the relay. you can switch the relay with one just like it, and see if the fans come on, if so, then all you need is another relay. when the a/c compressor is on, the iac(idle air control) valve increases the rpm to make up for the additional load from the compressor. that is normal
