How to switch off the Check Engine Light?

RE: How to switch off the Check Engine Light?
As this is not the "correct" option, I would take it to a PEPboys or Autozone (wherever) and have them check your codes first. (most times free)
However, you can easily turn off the light by removing the battery for a few minutes. (you'll loose all your station resets on the radio)
Or, put a piece of black tape over it. [sm=smiley16.gif]
If it's something serious, you'll probably find out the hard/expensive way sooner or later if you ignore it.
If you do disconnect the battery, and the light stays off for a couple days of driving, it's probably nothing too serious. (bad gas, left the gas cap off, low blinker fluid.. etc.)
