Check engine light on and smoking??
NEW TO THE FORUM SO.....
I HAVE A 95 MILLENIA S THAT IS SMOKING SO I HAD THE FRONT AND REAR VALVE COVER GASKET REPLACED BUT IT'S STILL SMOKING. WHERE ELSE COULD IT BE COMING FROM???
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON AND HAS NOW STARTED TO BLINK. WHEN ACCELERATING IN JERKS LIKE LOSING POWER. IS THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR?? GETTING CODE P1525 - IS THAT THE LOSS OF POWER???

1525 is your vent solenoid circuit, or the solenoid itself. it lives on the back of the intake, there are 4 solenoids in a row. the vent is the second from the passenger side(right). KJ03-18-741A, they cost 75.51(mazda usa suggested list price, ymmv). however, you should first ohm the solenoid. a good one will ohm somewhere btwn 25-30. above that, or 0, and it is dead/dying. as hixx said, you should also check the vacuum lines/tees in that circuit. however, i am surprised you are not getting a p1540(abv) code, and when it starts to "jerk" it should also turn on the tcs off/tcs lites. generally, both vacuum and vent solenoids go out about the same time, the vacuum solenoid is more common.
the 95-96 2.3 can ONLY use the 4 pin coil. 97 and later can use either. i am surprised it is not throwing an 0300, or cylinder specific code, too. if you are not getting the tcs off/tcs lites when it is "jerking", you could have misfire from the 3 pin coil. but then you would have codes for that. 95 was a dual year for obd2, so pulling codes from the obd2 port may not be correct. dunno about that.

Thanks again!! The car might be putting out more codes than the 1525 now. It has started having more things happen every day! It was smoking so bad that i've been going straight from home to work. My bro and i are going this evening to check the codes. I looked like cheech and chong at red lights from all the smoke coming from the car!!! Anyway, he has replace both valve cover gaskets which stopped some of the smoking. He is concentrating now on getting the codes, and the back right cylinder that is very weak. I guess that would be the #6? Anyway, thanks so much for your help. Bro will be viewing your responses tonight
