I own a 02' millennia. 2.5l engine. The car has had previous owners and I obtained it from my ex. Other than needing plugs And wires desperately the car has been running fine. I removed the cat converter and replaced with a piece of pipe and muffler. Been driving it for a few months now and one night I had some loss of power it felt like it was driving different. It needed water. I've been neglected to put water in the correct fill spout on the left hand side of the motor. I was only using the overflow..long
story short I drove about 10 miles and I felt immediate power loss. I tried giving it gas and it wouldn't take it. It slowly died but before it died. I hear a loud noise sounds kinda similar to when oil is low and you hear the valves chattering. But louder. It almost seems to travel out the exhaust before my car just stopped. It was pegged out on the temp gauge. And smoking real bad.. I got it home and it's doing weird. It's a new battery but at the least 5 times of a crank attempt car just start clicking as if battery dead. Charge it and same thing....the car is trying to start it wants to so bad. But also sounds like no compression. I will post pictures and video I'f possible what's going on with this thing? I have already pulled thd valve cover...no indication of jump time or anything...

 

If you've driven it with little of no coolant, and its overheated, then you probably warped the heads or even worse, warped the entire engine.

Good chance the engine is junk and needs replacing. ( based purely on your description )
