Hey, I have a 2000 Miata with about 30,000 miles and the check engine light just came on. I have checked all the fluids etc and nothing seems to be wrong. Can anyone tell me how to turn the light off. <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

 

#1 COMMON REASON FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS THE GAS CAP NOT PUT ON CORRECTLY-TRY TIGHTENING THE CAP AND REMOVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 1/2 HOUR REPLACE BATTERY CABLE LIGHT SHOULD GO AWAY-IF LIGHT DOESNT GO AWAY ...PLEASE REFER YOUR VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR FUTHER DIAGNOSES.

 

I don't mean to hijack the thread but this fix worked yesterday, so far no signs of the CEL, hope stays that way. great site,great info, great answers, thanks guys
