97 Miata M Check Engine light
Hello all - I am a newbie on this forum. I have a 1997 Miata M with 163k. My check engine light has come on several times in the 9 years I've owned the car. It seems to be an oxygen sensor each time. The latest time the oxygen sensor was replaced was 10 days ago, and the check engine come on again today. Is there something that could be causing my oxygen sensor to go bad? Thank you in advance.
Have you pulled the codes? I have a 1997 and have had to replace a MAP sensor (about $250 new). It was an intermittent problem; but, it would throw the car into an open loop for timing, fuel trim and power loss, basically a limp-home mode.
