Hi folks,
Im new to owning a mazda. I inherited a 2010 Mazda Miata MX5 Sport but it came with only one key and no remote. I have found numerous articles with instructions on how to get into programming mode so I can program a new key fab and I have followed the instructions to a T without any luck getting into programming mode. I even ensured the hood, trunk, passenger doors were all closed as well as windows. What else could I check?
here is what I tried.
1. Got in the car and closed the doors
2. Opened the drivers door
3. within seconds I put the key in the ignition and turned on and off three times (without starting the car)
4. Then opened the drivers door 3 times

nothing happens other than door open dinging sounds.....

what else can try? perhaps this isnt the process for my model?
