My thoughts. When I read about the CX-90, I liked what it offered. Since I didn't need a third row, was glad to hear about the CX-70. I was in the market for an upscale two row SUV, so decided to wait and see when the CX-70 would be available. Mazda delayed the CX-70, so I started looking at other two row SUVs. After looking at other SUVs, I decided I didn't want to wait to see when CX-70 would be available. So on Dec 29, I picked up my new 2024 BMW X3 M40i. IT cost a bunch more than the CX-70, but it is a very nice SUV. Now that details about the CX-70 are out, I am glad I bought the BMW. Mazda needed to make the CX-70 a size between the CX-50 and the CX-90. I now own two SUVs. A BMW X3 and my 2020 Mazda CX-5 Signature. Both are nice SUVs. I do need to drive the CX-5 more, I only have 12,000 miles on it.

Hi, how reliable has you BMW been?
i have a 2022 CX-5 turbo signature with 22k on it, and it drink a quart of oil every 4000kms. What is your experience with this turbo?

Haven't had the BMW that long (2 months, 800 miles). So far it is fine. I only have 12,000 miles on my CX-5 turbo but haven't had any oil problems or excessive use.

More info. I had the first oil change at 2,000 miles (break-in). Then again at 7,000 miles. It is now due for a third oil change. Just checked the level and it is at the full mark. When I get my car back from service, I always check the oil level to make sure they don't over fill it. I have had my Mazda dealer do the oil changes..

For those really concern but do not have any signs of engine oil consumption... you can do a Oil Analisis that will show the indicators of detected unnormal in the oil that could be at least indicator of engine concerns.

Lately we have a few customers that came to us because Mazda had told them they had no issues but wanted a second opinion. I am collecting a nice data base now of Oil Analisis being done on Mazda's .
