Default Rear hatch rattle

I have a 2011 CX-9 and I hear a rattle from the rear hatch, I've taken the plastic cover off tighten everything up (nothing was loose) I even installed insulation but I still hear the rattle, any thoughts or recommendations?

I do live on a very short dirt road but I even hear the rattle on paved roads. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this, open the tailgate, go for a drive down your short dirt road, see if the noise is still there. Maybe put someone in the boot/trunk/back to listen & pin point the location of the noise.

Also make sure your number plate is secure, make sure your spare tyre is secure, make sure the tyre bar/tyre iron/ wheel nut brace and all the other tools & bits & pieces under the floor are secure. The go for another drive.

Open the tailgate all the way up?

I sat in the 3rd row from what I could hear it sounded like it may be coming from the bottom of the hatch/tailgate maybe the locking mechanism but I poked and prodded and I couldn't find anything loose. The second time I had the plastic off I added some insulation however it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. The spare tire seemed tight but I did snug it up and I took some of the factory tools out, I'll report back shortly.

I took a drive and I still get the rattling noise, the noise appears to be coming from the bottom of the hatch and (almost) like the glass is loose.
