I have a 2019 GT with around 7K on it. Recently I am getting some strange noises from the brakes when I first move the car. Any ideas? Is there any issues with the anti-lock system that is known?

 

Probably just surface rust on the brake disc from overnite moisture and corrosion. Look at them before you start driving to see. After a few applications of braking it will scrub this off and you will not hear it again until it sits and happens all over. Some brake disc are more prone to this than others and when they are new the clearance is very tight.

 

Definitely not the rotors. I know the noise you are thinking of. The noise I have is more of a "cracking or creaking noise. I think it is coming from the anti-lock system. This is my fourth CX-9 and I remember I had the same issue with one of my previous ones.

 

And what was the cause from the previous experience?

 

10k miles and the brakes started making noise. Send it to dealership since it’s still on warranty, they said it’s a recall, it’s been a year and still the same. I kept coming back every oil change to have them fixed it.
