I have a 2011 Mazda CX 9 and had the work done to fix the recall 8515G corrosion of front suspension ball joint back in 2015 or 2016.

Now in 2019, I think the issue has come back - rattling in the front when I'm on an incline, approaching 40 mph. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Have you had the ball joints replaced by a Mazda dealer after the recall & if so, did they charge you for the work?

I have a 2012 and had the recall work done in 2017. End of last year I took it to the dealer for the passenger side airbag and the tech "found an issue" with the control arm joints. I declined the repair since they said there was no warranty on recall replacement parts, but earlier this month started experiencing symptoms of them failing. They really need to do something about this like make it a permanent recall, since clearly there is a defect in the design causing this that can't be fixed by a technician, it can only be patched. I emailed corporate support but I may just try another local dealer and see if they will fix it without charging me.

 

My CX9 rattling has begun to come back also. Not sure what we can do about it. I had work done at dealership also.
