Default 2015 CX-9 randomly dies driving

My wife has been experiencing her 2015 CX-9 shutting down while driving. Once stopped, she can start the car back up and continue her drive. It is only happening around once a week or two or once around every 10 drives. It has happened backing out of the driveway, parking spaces, and while driving down the road. Every time I've driven the vehicle, which is not much, nothing has ever happened. Reading online, it sounds like these vehicles had fuel pump issues. Does this sound like the fuel pump starting to fail?

Thanks!

WELCOME to the forum

You should go directly connected to the diagnostic connector and see if there is any pending DTC(engine codes. Then go to the monitors and see what state they are in.
You may have an anomalous running condition that the ECU has not trigged an engine check light yet.

Thanks! I'll try that. We have one of the good scanners at work.
