Hi I have a 2012 CX 9 and was getting a road worthy certificate to register the car in another state (Australia) and was told that the third high brake light needed replacing .... quoted $400 for part plus $100 to install. It is a sealed unit but was curious to know if there were any alternatives to forking out $400 for such a unit? I have looked around for non genuine but could not see anything that would fit without mods. any advice appreciated. cheers

 

What's wrong with it?

Ring around the wreckers for a second hand unit.

Also ask the roadworthy inspector if you can mount an aftermarket high stop light to the tailgate glass?
