Default 2012 CX 9 interior light question

Hi.
New to this forum. I have a 2012 cx9 sport. I noticed that the gear shift lever markers (where the P R N D resides) do not light up at night when the headlights are on. It seems a little strange to me. Was wondering if this is considered normal or might I have a burned out bulb. Have owned the car for a short time and can't recall if it ever worked.

Thanks
Gerard

I would guess because that particular information is on the dash they found it redundant to make it light up on the shifter area. Mine doesn't illuminate either...

yes, the gear shift lights do light up. Mine light up sometimes. If I bump it it will light up after it goes out. I’m replacing the stock navigation screen with a kenwood excelon ddx396 next week and I’ll switch out the bulb when I have it tore apart but to answer your question, yes there is a light in there.
