Default dumb question: why is the green light above the ignition switch not coming on?

When I was test driving the car there was a green light illuminating the place where you put the key to start the car. After owning the car for a few days I have noticed that the light does not seem to be coming on any more. I looked through the owner's manual and could not find any reference to this light.

Ideas?

Mine is red and comes on whenever I open the door.
It sounds like it may be a warranty issue for your first visit back to the dealer.
'Probably just a defective bulb.

Default aha, thanks for the pointer

The light comes on when the door opens and goes off with the over head lights. The last few times I was in the car I was always talking to my kids and had not noticed the light was on. After reading your response I confirmed the light does work.

Thanks.

Well that's GREAT that it turned out to be something as simple as that.
