The dash interferes with a tall cup in the front cup holder. Even a narrow, but tall cup doesn’t fit there. You can probably use a cup adapter in the rear holder.

LOL there is a joke with the cup height comment often responded to on not only Mazda forums but other platforms as well. Personally, it is easy to adjust the chosen habit of the height of the cup or learn to work around taller cups.

+ Beautiful interior.
+ 29+ mpg on highway with 87 octane fuel
+ Very comfy seats
+ 2nd row bench in all models - tough to find in many SUVs this size (need for dog!)
+ Nice controls.
+ Very nice ride.
+ I do not miss my Mercedes.
+ it is not as common as a other mid-size SUVs
+ this model well equipped.
+ Mazda has 7-pin trailer wiring harness. Some others do, some do not.

- Driver recognition sees me maybe 10% of the time despite re-learning multiple times. No way to disable.
- Small and cramped center console cup holders
- Limited storage in front doors/console
- Auto idle stop activates when foot off gas and coasting. Great feature, but when engine restarts at low speed (< 5-10 mph), car surges just a bit. Feels odd, though you get used to it.
- Narrow cargo area - cannot lay golf clubs side-to-side or lengthwise. Have to go diagonally, limiting storage.

Drive others, then decide what is important to you. I’d buy this again. It’s a really nice vehicle, though there are others.
Can the auto stop start be turned off?

Default Auto stop

Yes it’s easy to defeat. I used a piece of plastic zip tie to wedge between the switch and the housing, while the switch is held in, this will disable auto stop

Good to know, thanks. No need to reinsert after each start?
