Thoughts from owners on the new 70
I got my in Mid- January. It's a Turbo S Premium Plus model. To date, I'm extremely happy with it. Averaging 29.9 mpg, handles well, plenty of power and storage in the rear. Negatives are the cup holders are too small, it is a heavy car so you feel it, the rear liftgate opening when you swish your foot underneath is a little slow to react. Sometimes the auto recognition system doesn't recognize me too.
We are empty nesters and don't need the third row so this car is great for us. Recommended fuel is 91 octane. We have 93 here in Texas so that is not an issue. I did run two tank fulls on 87 and frankly didn't notice any difference, so that is an option too. Overall, I would recommend this car.

I just watched a YouTube where they tested 87 to 93 octane gas and found no difference in engine performance. I used to use 93 but have switched to 87 and found zero difference in performance or gas mileage. Premium is only needed in certain engines that require it.
Bought our Turbo S Premium in November to be used as a tow vehicle for a small camper trailer. White with the rich tan (?)interior.

+ 2nd row bench in all models - tough to find in many SUVs this size (need for dog!)

+ Mazda has 7-pin trailer wiring harness. Some others do, some do not.
- Driver recognition sees me maybe 10% of the time despite re-learning multiple times. No way to disable.
- Small and cramped center console cup holders
- Limited storage in front doors/console
- Auto idle stop activates when foot off gas and coasting. Great feature, but when engine restarts at low speed (< 5-10 mph), car surges just a bit. Feels odd, though you get used to it.
- Narrow cargo area - cannot lay golf clubs side-to-side or lengthwise. Have to go diagonally, limiting storage.
Drive others, then decide what is important to you. I’d buy this again. It’s a really nice vehicle, though there are others.

Supercharged and Turbocharged engine will produce more torque at a lower RPM range they are not technically more efficient. In fact, the average driver of a boosted engine will get lower MPG then a normally aspirated engine not because of the engines fuel inductive system but poor driving habits.
The use and learning how to tailor your throttle by using the instant miles per gallon setting on the dash helps increase MPG on all engines regardless of design.
Have 2 weeks. Love it. Also have 2024 CX5 Signature which we also love. CX70 is much nicer overall. Very quiet smooth ride. Adequate acceleration with 280 hp. For those that complain about the small cup holders I am sure there is an adapter for larger containers. Working with android auto drives me NUTS. If you want it on all the time, fine. Switching it off was extremely frustrating. There is a way (submenu under bluetooth, I think)on the newer Mazdas (2024 and later) when using AA or ACP to use the touchscreen while driving. Overall very happy
