No power when accelerating
I recently had my timing chain replaced and then they said my camshaft needed to be replaced as well because there was oil leaking I now have no power when I put my foot down to Excelerator my car was driving fine before then the mechanic doesn’t know what to do because someone please help me it’s reading code P0012 any help would be much appreciated
without a doubt your mechanic screwed up on the installation. Mazda supposedly meant to make the timing chain install fool proof using friction washers and a special tool for alignment. But there are ways to mess it up. This engine does not use notched keys on the cam or crankshaft gears. this is a huge difference between other normal cars/ engines. They can move in the install process and there goes your timing. Pain to do all over again. The camshaft does not leak all by itselt but the seal on the right side might leak. Replace the seal would stop the leak. Just replacing the camshaft itsellf would not stop the leak. You have to go back and simply tell the guy the timing is off and it doesnt run right. show im the code. Be sure to ask if they used new friction washers and bolts. Using the old ones may cause it to slip.
