Default New to Mazda (CX-7 2.3) - Issues Already Hahah

Hi All,

I have just bought myself my first Mazda and went with a CX-7 as I fancied something different but I made the grave error of doing research after I had bought the vehicle!

I just hope I can get he MPG into the early 30s as I do alot of motorway driving thankfully!

I am hoping there nothing seriously wrong with my car as i have already noticed a couple of issues

1 - Black smoke under hard acceleration occasionally which after research appears to be fuel dump and normal?

2 - Slight hesitation when driving and it feels like fuel. The previous owner who was an older gent has never really driven it in anger for the 3 years he has owned it and his daughter who had it before him also drive it carefully apparently. He also as a favour put £50 of fuel in it when on the test drive but it was cheap Supermarket fuel so my first thought is do some runs with injector cleaner/top grade fuel and give it an Italian tune up.

Any advice is much appreciated, I was thinking I will change the fuel filter and spark plugs in the first instance and then I was hoping if anyone could advise of a Mazda specialist in Manchester who could look at it and advise of the issue as I can carry out work myself.

The car is a 3 owner car with 105k miles with full history and very well maintained.

Thankyou in advance

Mike
