I have a Mazda CX-7 2008/2009 Model - 2.3L Turbo I ran out of fuel last week by accident , I thought it was a battery problem and tried to jump start the car for 5 mins , Now the car drives sluggish and has lost power , I thought i smelt a burning smell from it the other day an electrical burning smell but the smell has gone , It over reved and under reved so I don't want to drive incise it does any further damage Any advice would be much apricated , Thank You's

Get your fuel pressure tested.

 

Superb , Much apricated It was the clutch , I get that checked too
