Manually reset the check engine light

Basically I left the ignition Key on and one of the Doors left open overnight, this obviously drained the battery to the point where I needed to jumpstart the engine. Once the engine was started and the battery was charged I had to reset the Clock and program the AM/FM channels. This was the only thing done and yet the Check Engine light came on and has not turned itself off. Because the battery was completely drained I am sure this was what triggered the engine light but unfortunately I am not sure if the Customer can reset this?
My question is do we have any way to resent this manually without taking to the dealer?

Thanks in advance

Disconnecting the battery and stepping on the brake pedal a few seconds should reset it. It probably set an O2 heater code due to low voltage on startup.
