Default Looking to buy a CX7 or 1st gen rdx. Any reliability/maintenance concerns?

Hey everyone. I need to buy a car because I'm going back to school, and have settled on either a CX7 or 2008-2011 RDX. I want something on the smaller side that still has some power, and both of these seem to fit the bill. Based on what I want to spend, I'll be looking at CX7's in the 100k-120k mile range range. I'm looking specifically for the turbo version.

Given that any CX7 I can realistically get will be 9+ years old with 100k+ miles, is there any need for concern regarding maintenance/reliability? While having something I enjoy driving would be nice, reliability is more important. I'll be spending a ton of money going to school out of state so I really need something that won't constantly have problems. Also, anything I should keep in mind/be aware of when looking at CX7's in this range? I've been reading some reviews and there seem to be issues with the turbos and timing chain. Is this a common issue?

Thanks in advance!

If the CX-7 is the turbo version, they have a bad reliability reputation. Unless its had major engine repairs, stay away or start savings for future repairs.
