Default CX-7 Heads

I have a 2011 CX-7 that I believe has a cracked head or bad head gasket, I’ll be pulling it apart this weekend to see for sure. If the head is bad I was going to pickup a replacement from the parts yard but was wondering what other Mazdas use the same head? On the parts yard website the pictures of the motors on some of the Mazda 07-12 3’s & 6’s look the same but that doesn’t mean they’ll fit.

Welcome to the forum

It is VERY difficult anymore to assume the heads are interchangeable. There use to be a good guide to cross-overs but not any longer. My business pardoner that offers performance heads for a few platforms must carefully match any core head from most all 4 cylinders engine these days as he has found the few guides available had bad errors in formation for interchangeability.
