I have a 2007 CX-7 with a shade in the cargo area attached to a bar. Is there a way to remove this bar? I need to move something and the bar is in the way.

 

Yes it is very easy.

The cargo cover retracts into a square bar. One end of that bar is spring loaded to expand.

Retract the cover into the bar. Compress that end and tilt the other end up and back. Then just move it around until you get it out of the two square notches on the side of the cargo bay sides and out the back.

It takes seconds once you do it a few times.

If you cannot figure it out I can take pictures of me doing it this weekend if necessary.

 

Hello - I have a Mazda CX7 2007 and this is exactly what I need to do too. I've had a look but I can't seem to work out how to remove the bar that holds the cargo cover. I'd be so grateful if you could please post pics - thanks in advance.
