My wife bought a CX50. The dealer told us that the navigation system is not loaded at time of purchase and wanted $499 to load the maps. I found the nav SD card online and purchased. However, the CX50 does not seem to recognize that an SD is inserted in the card reader under the arm rest. Steps I take: insert SD card, wait 30 sec, start engine, go to NAV. Just displays the standard message there is an option to install and SD card. Is there a step I am missing? Part BHP166EZ1P. TIA.

 

It won't work, that part number is from the first gen Mazda Connect Nav system. I don't know the actual part if I find it I'd post back.

Ok, that's different from what you've posted, yes that's the correct part number and it should work It's pretty much Plug and Play make sure enable write switch is ON on SD card. Try resetting system press NAV + Volume control for a few seconds with card in slot to see if it's recognized. If after a few restarts it doesn't work go to dealer for a replacement.

 

There is a newer part no for 2023 CX-50 available at Canadian dealers----TD2K 66 EZ1A .
