Harry Potter wand...
There are an assortment of ways.
From making card stock tabs to slip over the gasket/bolts pull the card stock out before tightening.
To using some form of proper spray/brush on adhesive that you will not get into the transmission.
Never having done a Mazda one I'll leave the answer to others who have.
Good luck.

Well hmmm ,,, auh...I am thinking that you are trying to do a balancing act to keep the gasket on top of the pan and hold it up and then re-align the holes to place a bolt threw a hole? LOL
Ya I understand the first time can be a comical act of WTF and frustration....
Ok so apply a very very slight thin layer of sealer on 4 corners. Very slight only enough to keep the gasket is somewhat of an alignment for the balancing act. This should make your first time much easier and reduce the complaints from your neighbors from all the colorful metaphors being herd from your work space. lol..
Sorry I don't have pictures on that procedure but maybe next time I change the pan filter I might add them for future referencing.

Pan gasket no good!!!
The saga goes on. While doing the trans fluid & filter change today, all was going well until went to reinstall the pan. The gasket that came with the Wix WL 10379 kit did not fit the pan. The holes in gasket did not line up with the pan holes on one side of pan. Not even close, off by 3/4."
Mazda dealer does not stock gaskets for my cx5. Parts guy said they use RTV sealant when servicing trans. I called Napa, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts. No luck . The only item they had was the same Wix filter/ gasket kit I already have which was supposed to be compatable with my 2021 CX5 n/a.
I believe I read somewhere that some other folks had the same problem with the supplied Wix gasket holes not lining up with pan.
Anyone know of a supplier that may have the correct gasket ? I really did not want to go the RTV sealer route, but it looks like I may have to.
I will call WIX cust. service in morning to see what they have to say.
