Whine on Deceleration 23 CX5 turbo
Interesting, maybe, update! It looks like if I shift into Neutral while the car is in the "whine zone", the sound disappears until I put it back into gear. The car drives totally fine otherwise, but I wonder if this narrows down to what the issue could be, or just confirm it is a normal operating sound. Either way I will be bringing it to the dealership to see what they say, car is great otherwise!
I have the exact same behaviour on my 23 Turbo - even the tech at the dealership replicated it. Mazda deems it normal, but the service department recommended reporting it every time I take it in until it gets worse and hopefully Mazda signs off a repair. Frustrating to say the least!
I repeat just for you...
As I have suggested if anyone is really so worried/concerned it will not VOID or disrupt the WARRANTY if you simply pull a little ATF and have it analyzed. This would also be in your best interest should a problem does actually happen down the road as supportive information.
See transmission information:

An update from me on this frustrating whining noise. We took the car at the dealership for the 5th time and they can hear the noise, however Mazda is deeming it as normal operation of the vehicle. A service technician previously confirmed that the noise is coming from the transmission.
I've recorded some videos recently and you can clearly hear the whining on acceleration and deceleration:
At this point we don't know what to do as the noise makes driving the car unbearable without music on at a certain volume level.

And some suggest I have OCD... LOL
Ok so once again videos made with a cell phone are just bad for anyone that is simply in the automotive service industry. LOL
Nest time place a small piece of foam over the cell phone mic and that may filter some unwanted road noises?
However your video sound more electrically produced then mechanical. You may suggest the next time you go into the MAZDA? It may psychologically get the service advisor or whomever goes on the test drive with you to readjust there thinking. Many of us think mechanical first and that adjust use to listening for mechanical sounds that that may be creating some noises and sounds.
There is no insults on this response trust me little rattles and noises in any of my vehicles I cant identify quickly can drive me bananas until I resolve them!!

As we age, almost everyone loses their ability to hear high frequency sounds.
At my age all my vehicles now sound great...
I would check the engine air filter box and make sure it's completely closed, because if it's open it can make air squeal noises. Check the cabin air filter too just to be safe. Maybe try lubricating the rubber trim around all of the doors and windows. Honestly I have no clue what else it could be...
If I may add, I have a similar problem (or maybe the same). Same sound that appears as in the videos attached above but only when removing the foot from the acceleration, and only between 70km/h and 60km/h. I just discovered the sound these days, not sure if it was there before and I didn’t caught it, or it just appeared. The car is 2,5L non-turbo (as far as I know, europe doesn’t have turbo edition on this), and if I try to switch from automatic to manual, the sound kind of dissapears. It’s a bit strange, because after switching to manual, it shows the 5th gear, but if I struggle a bit (it won’t allow me because the rpm is a bit too low for 6th gear, although in auto it changes to 6th) to change it to 6th gear ( while in manual), the sound is back. I haven’t got a chance to try more things in order to better understand the behaviour, because my wife was bothered by me “messing around with the car”
