I have a landline still don't have good cell reception here.
After retiring from 15 years of being on call 24/7 I only have a cellphone for vehicle emergencies, but I generally forget it when I leave the house anyway.

The other thing is unlike all or most of say 95% of this forum members do not read the periodical I do having to do with the automotive industry as a whole. Why would you all you are not in the business i.e., parts manufacture, parts distribution parts developer, marketing & advertising and more or less my now hobby service.

I like this thread because it reminds me of a "SMOLT" and I also like the members that are participating and what has been responded about the thread's topic. I just am a bit more vocal when it comes to how I feel about electric vehicles and that's it and that post is all I have to say about that on this thread.
I can't stand electric cars. To me, they answer a question very few asked. It's all about the money and what political lobby gets their way. I hope ICE stays around for quite a while so I always have a choice.

The last one was why IBM, which invented the PC, never became a major supplier of them. They didn't believe there would be a major consumer market.

Lets no forget how Kodak F*cked up and lost out on digital camera. I believe that EV's will in time when the charging infrastructure ,time to charge is reduced and Range is improved they will be viable for most people. I still do love the feel and sound of an good high performance ICE.

I was reading about a battery in development that will potentially achieve 1000 mile range and charge to 80% in about five minutes. It's not a lithium battery and won't be compatible with current setups and is expected to be practical for marketing in about ten years. Maybe then, if I'm still around and able to drive, I will consider a voltswagen.

The "new" EPA just announced it is going to dump just about every environmental regulation, meaning you may have your ICE vehicles ala 1960's style, provided it gets past the inevitable court challenges.
If it does, along with it you'll get the increase in air and water pollution and a steady reduction in gas mileage back in that era.
I can't wait go back to the thick factory and diesel smoke, lead fouled smog and the polluted beaches and drinking water of my youth...
Ahhh...there was nothing like the early morning smell of the local chemical company hazmat byproduct wafting over the town every other day.
As their tanker trucks pumped their loads into the old limestone quarries.
