Question is in title. Just noticed this little blue device under my steering wheel. What is this ?

Doesn't look like anything from Mazda.

What is it wired into?

As others have mentioned, this isn't a factory item. Does your car have a trailer hitch? It might be a trailer brake controller. Just a guess.

Normally brake controllers have more than one button.

That's weird. Our 2020 cx5 doesn't have that. Is your car pre-owned? Maybe it's something the previous owner installed? I've seen similar buttons that were car alarm overrides...

If that button isn't pushed every 30 minutes, your Mazda will turn into a Chevelle.

Hopefully it's not for the ejection seat. Maybe it releases caltrops to get rid of those pesky cops chasing you.
