I am absolutely NOT saying that. Lol.
I have only been searching for this solution since earlier this morning, I have definitely not gathered enough information to make any judgement calls!
Once again both your model CX-5's are supposed to have heated mirrors.
To work you need to "engage" the rear defrost button.
You are 100% incorrect. My car does not have it, nor is it "supposed" to have it. It is not listed on the build sheet, the window sticker or on any other location that shows vehicle options. I am fully aware of how they operate on a vehicle that is equipped with them and mine does not have them. There is also generally an icon etched into the mirror glass on vehicles equipped with heated mirrors.
Maybe being up in Maine you got a Canadian-spec version but us down in the lower states do not have them on any trim level under premium.

My error.
I would point out my 2020 Grand Touring did not have them listed and there is no etching on the mirrors.
After rechecking I also found out there is zero information on "heated mirrors" or their operation in the owner's manual.
I do know that turning on the rear defrost activates mine, that according to Mazda literature, or the absence of any, would supposedly indicate they aren't even there.
There is no specification difference in the same model numbers of the CX-5 that Mazda ships to North America be it Canada or the USA.
Am about to upgrade to heated mirrors on my 2022 s preferred. Turns out all the wiring is already in the car and the fuse as well. These are the parts needed:
