Next question. Is this one of those things where it is advisable to use Mazda brand fluids only or can an alternative quality brand name be used?
I didn't think they did formulate their own fluids but perhaps partnered with someone who did and then made it proprietary. There's one of these cars (I think Toyota) where everyone says use the Toyota brand...I believe tranny fluid, not sure.
Its the same for Toyota. Now there is a company that claims to be the best in the industry and maybe they are good quality but at the cost retail or even what they quoted me wholesale distributor cost they can keep it. LOL Not for as often as I service my fluids on any of my vehicles. LOL
I drained the Mazda fluid out of my engine and transmission at or before both were broken in. Somehow, I still like to see clear RED ATF instead of the dark green that Mazda has their ATF colored.
Most don't know that the RED color is ATF fluid is a dye and that history why is funny, sad but interesting!
Now if you want to get into more reasons.... the engineered and developed by me automatic transmission parts I sold stipulated to use Castrol, Redline or AMSOIL ATF only for the warranty.
Being new to Mazda and my CX-5 specifically, I still haven't found their recommended maintenance schedule. Haven't run into yet in the owner's manual or on the info system in the car. I'm guessing it's there somewhere I just haven't got there yet. Even so, I don't always agree with these schedules the carmakers put out. And I especially don't agree with anything they say is "Lifetime".

.Do you even know why there are two main reasons why not to do a complete transmission flush?
I will let you go research it before I respond. BTW I have answered that a few times on this forum?
And I have supplied dozens of pictures on this forum what the pan inside bottom, pan magnets and lower transmission looks like at various stages of service below 40k miles.
As for waiting until 50k miles... even that is not the best advice. Your transmission fluid is already contaminated with the break in particles after the first few hundred miles. There are also many assembly chemicals used that are dissolved as you acquire miles on the brand-new transmission while they don't cause any issues they can discolor the fluid and make for identifying actual problem area harder.
based on my experience with new automatic transmission the pan fluid and filter should be changed at least at or sooner than 300o miles from new. A full fluid replacement at 50k miles and for sure at 100K miles paying special attention to cleaning as much normal varnish build up on the valve body and solenoids.
To repeat when in doubt have a sample of your ATF analysis and see for yourself or role the dice and do nothing.
