So we're considering buying an RV and are wondering whether we can use our 2021 FWD CX-5 as a "toad", a car that's towed "flat" behind the RV--that is with all four wheels on the ground (as opposed to using a dolly that elevates the front wheels).

Looks like any toad needs a tow bar that inserts into the RV trailer hitch, a base plate that attaches to the tow bar, a lighting kit that activates the toad's lights when the RV lights (including brake lights) are lighted, and a braking system to brake the car being towed at the same time brakes are used for the RV.

Anyone here have experience towing a CX-5 behind an RV?

Did you read the owner's manual? If you had you would have your answer.

No.

No CX-5 models can be flat towed. None.

 

Tried to find it in the owners manual but was unable to find it there.
