Is there a method to program a new Proximity Fob?

Is there a method to program a new Proximity Fob?
Just bought a 2016 CX-5 GT. Only came with one proximity Fob. Looks like I can buy an OEM online, but most claim only the dealership can program it. Is this true or is there some sort of tap dancing method I can perform to get the car to learn a new Fob?

Its programmed thru Mazda's MMDS diagnostic tool.
It involves communicating to the cars PATS ( Passive Anti-Theft System), receiving unique security codes, accessing the National Mazda computer system, using the unique codes to receive another security code to enter programming mode & then programming the new key fob.

Gotcha, figured it was worth a try. It looks like I can get a replacement on Amazon, a bunch of people say that they successfully went to the dealership with the Amazon fob, and the dealership programmed it for about fifty bucks. I will do it that way.
