Hi Guys,
I inherited an lovely 2013 CX5 in beautiful condition apart from the fact it smokes at times.
Drives lovely with lots of go and only smokes after slowing down and then accelerating which to me points towards turbo issue.
So my question does this sound like the issue and secondly can the turbo be removed without taking the engine out ?

If I'm not mistaken, the CX-5 didn't get a turbo until the 2019 model year (at least in the states). Do you have a diesel or gas engine?

 

If you look, he is in Britain and probably has the diesel which did have a turbo.

 

Yah I figured it has to be a diesel due to the location. Knowing the exact motor would be a big help.

 

Turbo is removable in place, but it's much, much easier to drop the engine out the bottom for unobstructed access.

You will lose your sanity and alot of skin removing in place
