Slow acceleration
Hello
Just looking for some advice with my 2014 CX-5 sport 4x4 please.
Car had been running perfectly fine, I went away so it sat for nearly a week but started absolutely fine. However, accelerating it just is sluggish until it hits 2500 revs then turbo kicks in and it accelerates rapidly. It’s not in a total limp mode and there’s no warning lights at all.
I only did a short drive in it but the engine did seem very hot for a long time after and when I went under the bonnet to see if there was anything obvious and to check oil etc, the coolant level seems very high.
I had a guy come out from a breakdown company to have a look but he didn’t think the coolant was related and as there was no warning light there wasn’t a lot he could do.
Anyone had this before? Trying to work out if it’s a big fix or not. Many thanks

Did he scan it for fault codes?
These are known for head gasket issues, high coolant level is a common tell tail sign.
The sluggish feel is also a result of a failing primary turbo or turbo vacuum solenoid.

Did the breakdown guy check for coolant in the crankcase oil? Did he remove the radiator cap, start the engine and check for bubbles in the coolant? Sadly, too many “mechanics” today only know how to read a computer printout and have little knowledge of how vehicles actually work.
