2014 Cx5 2.2d - Engine/Coolant Issues
I all new to the group. Last week took my 2014 Mazda CX-5 Akers 2.2d to the snow (NSW) and about 500km into the trip got a warning on the dash saying Radiator Temp Too High. Pulled over immediately and opened the bonnet to find radiator cap missing and coolant all over engine cover. Car was turned off and let to cool for several hours. Unfortunately it was a small town and the only mechanic was a Toyota dealership across the road. They had their mechanic order a new radiator cap l, top up coolant (4.5L) and sent us on our way. Ever since the car has been sluggish, turbo not spooling and has blow back (or blow by) coming through the oil cap which suggests it's a bottom end (piston/compression issue)
Car has just ticked over 97,000km and has always been serviced by Mazda but I've missed the most recent service by 3 months (and 1,500km).
What are my chances of Mazda fixing the engine under "good will"????
Thanks in advance.
