Default Slightly dented Mazda CX5 roof and antenna

Hi everyone, I had an accident backing up my CX5 2019 out of my garage. The door clipped the antenna and dented the roof. Dealership referred me to a body shop which is saying this is going to 1.2K to repair...
I'm looking at the damage, and aside from possible water getting into the area, I don't see why I would need to spend that much just to fix this. Can't I just get something like this to cover the damaged area?

If anyone has a similar issue, I would appreciate your insight. Below are the pictures of the damage:

The roof needs to be completely flat, otherwise the aerial won't seal flat & will allow water to enter the vehicle.

A cheap & nasty fix would be to use alot of silicone sealer to seal up any gaps to prevent water ingestion.

The roof is quite dented when you see the mirror image of the house next door, there are probably some tension throughout the roof.Isn't that something your insurance takes?

How will that Amazon fin cover the area any more than the original fin?

From the damage it looks as if you were not backing up but driving forwards,

Bite the bullet and get it fixed right. You'll never be happy looking at that things unless you do.

"The roof is quite dented when you see the mirror image of the house next door,"

Good observation ;->

Unless you have really crappy or bare minimum insurance, it should fully cover after your deductible.
