Default Firmware update

Very difficult to screw up if you follow direction.

Take a FAT32 formatted USB stick and save the firmware update file to it. When you plug it into your car, it will either find the file or it won't. If it doesn't, make sure you have it plugged into the correct port (top), have it in FAT32 format, and have the file there.

Make sure to open and close the door or press the break peddle after 20 or so minutes. You don't want the car to turn off and stop the update.

Really pretty simple, just follow the directions and you will be fine.

Default Keep trying

Download the ZIP file. It is about a GB. Sometimes it will fail. A good internet connection is a must.

Default Update is simple

Yes. Not bad at all. I am sure many dealers would be clueless on how or why you need to do it.

I will say since this latest update it is the first time I have never had a Sirius XM failure.

Unfortunately the dealers don't get info or help provided by Sirus. They are left blind by Mazda.

Default Latest update

Agreed. Seems faster and more reliable.

This wasn't a Sirius XM issue, this was a problem with the whole Infotainment firmware in general. There was more bugs than just Sirius XM radio failing to work at times.

Interesting. I am less than thrilled with the update. Takes forever for mine to load up (slower than the 352 firmware). I got in my car tonight and started driving, it took a couple of minutes before Sirius even started. The opening splash screen with the Mazda logo also stays a lot longer now.

What's the latest firmware? I brought my car in for service, and mentioned the firmware problem; the initial response was, "Sirius/XM updates its software automatically," but eventually the light bulb went on that the problem was with the Mazda firmware. The invoice says that it was updated from 70.00.100 to 70.00.367.
