Sirus XM issue
Can't see my original reply, so trying again. I purchased a 2019 Mazda6 Grand Touring last year (brand new, from the dealership). Of course, it takes way too long for the navigation, phone, and radio to load, but I'm told this is how things are in a Mazda. I'm having exactly the same SiriusXM issue. It usually loads, but occasionally fails to load properly, after which I get channel 0, one channel in the 100's, and several in the 300's. It persists until the car is shut off for a while. I had a software update a few months ago. It made no difference. I went back to the dealership. The salesperson I talked to was well aware of the issue. He knew exactly what was happening, and which channels I see when the load fails. He said it happens on a lot of the new cars there. Management, on the other hand, claimed to be unaware of the problem, as did the staff in the service department. I had another software update this week, and we'll see what happens. It's very frustrating, to say the least.
Hi
I just got a 2020 CX-9 and we hooked up the SiriusXM since we have it in our 2009 Nissan Murano.
And yes, I have the issue with 130, then 301-500 or so ...has this issue been rectified?
Thanks...I can't believe its been going on for so long.

The only way I can get it to return to normal when it does that--other than waiting 30 minutes and turning the car on and off a couple of times it to reboot the system by pushing RETURN+NAV+MUTE (at the same time) and holding for 10 sec and then releasing them. This works almost every timg.

The latest firmware works "pretty good", but it still fails occasionally. It has failed twice as I have left the dealer. The problem is, you take it back, they turn the car off and restart it, it usually works then.
Quite frustrating. Definitely a bug somewhere in the initialiazation startup of the radio,, but good luck replicating it or getting Mazda to fix it. And no, it is not a Sirius XM problem or a hardware problem like the antenna.
Hi
I just checked mine and it's version 335. Regarding the update, can I just install 367 over the 335?
And the file i downloaded is a .UP file extension. I put it on a USB stick. Is that the right file? this
Thanks for your help.

Well, the Sirius "load problem" doesn't surface too often when I just use the car around town. It did happen both without my pohone plugged in and once with Apple Car play. Same thing...I get a SirusXM failed to load error at the top of the screen which doesn't go away. The bad part is it blocks the navigation directions and there is no way to get rid of it. Sometimes the entire entertainment center freezes up. I called Sirius and they did a reset which did nothing. I called Mazda and was told there is a new firmware coming (that was months ago).
Last week we took the Miata on a vacation and it was horrible....the radio either got the "failed to load" error above or it wouldn't work at all. With or without Carplay. I was able to get it working again but only after killing the engine and letting it sit for a while...moire than 5 minutes.
I'm taking the car to the dealer today for my first service and I will try to get them to focus on this craziness. I'm guessing the issue is too expensive to fix and they are laying low.
I think I will cancel the Sirius subscription and see if that works. I can use Sirius in Carplay.
