Default SiriusXM - changing the channel via steering wheel?

On our 19 GT you could change the station for SIRUS XM via the rocker switch just to the left of the horn. On our 21 this same switch goes backward and forward a song in the current channels playlist but stays on the same station. For radio it changes the channels as it did in our 19. Is anyone aware of a way to use steering wheel buttons to change SiriusXM stations? Using the infotainment **** on the console is not very intuitive. You have to go through several steps to get to the channel list or favorite list.

Well I answered my own question today. The way to accomplish what I want with the new system is to spin the dial controller on the console. It then shows the favorite stations and you can chose another. Still not as good as the old system (which is strange as the owners manual says the toggle button to the left of the horn will switch stations like the old car - it doesn't for Sirius, only for FM and AM stations.)

I just picked up my 2021 GT last week. It is SO INCONVENIENT and SO UNSAFE to have to take your eyes off the road to change the stations! And if you pull up your favorites list, you can't get through your list. Whatever favorite station you're on, if you use the **** to change it, it goes to the next numbered station. So if I have 6 music stations added and 7 sports stations added to my favorites list, you can't go through them to quickly get from music to sports. It's ridiculous. If ANYONE comes up with the safer way to use the steering wheel as in the past, please post it here. The saleswoman who sold me my car said it's a SiriusXM thing.

What do you mean about not being able to change the favorites stations? If you spin the dial on the center console while listening to a Sirius station- the favorites list comes up on the screen. You spin to select the station you want and press down to select. I still would prefer the rocker on the steering wheel to do what it did on my '19, but I have adapted to using the dial on my '21.

My 2023 CX-50 does same thing so they have not updated anything. Only thing I have discovered works is if I am in say Carplay I can click favorite button and then select station with commander ****. To exit I then slide commander **** to the left (on screen it has an X to the left of the stations). This then takes me back to Carplay.

That is more labor intensive than just twisting the **** when you have selected Sirius from the source list. LOL Still don't like that you can't use the rocker on the left side of the steering wheel. No idea why they would have changed this from 2019.
