Default Rear brake pads keeps breaking

Morning
Mazda CX5 2016 here
Rear brake pads keeps breaking (1/4 of pad breaks off ) I replaced it 3 months ago and it is already broken.
I hear a metal noise when slightly breaking...
sounds to me that the caliper piston might be slamming into the brake pad and eventually breaks part of it ...weird ..
The caliper was replaced yess performing service mode yet it still breaks the brake pad ....
Anyone have any ideas?
thank you

Phil

A caliper unless it was damaged and you would see it visually cant do what you are describing.
Because they are brakes and you cant solve the problem I recommend you take it to a service shop in your area. Not sure where Vista is as there is serval cities named that but if in USA . If Vista CA then Firestone would be an easy choice. If none close then shop for a service shop that is ASE registered. There are several in your area if CA.

Waiting to find and correct the problem could in the worst scenario cause the rear wheel to lock up at any time or vehicle speed and cause the car to rear steer severely.

Some members are not auto mechanics or brake service qualified and your description really should be looked at by a service shop that is experienced in brake service.
Now that you added that you have concerns describing BOTH rear brake and their components

Based on your limited information the service, a step or installation procedure was overlooked or not done correctly. Guessing at this point could get you into more problems than resolving. Your rear brakes will need to be removed.

I hear you but we R not talking rocket science here Ive been taking care of my car for 45 + years and NEVER seen this before. I really doubt that most car shop will know what to do except replace everything . Actually a car mechanic replaced the rear left caliper a few months ago ...I brought the car back and it took everything apart put it back ...nothing wrong;(((( this is why Im asking on this forum.
Yes Ill probably go to see another mechanic but would like to find out more before doing so
Thank you for the advice

You are driving a 2016 vehcle with equal technology. It is not like vehicles manufactured pertaining to the running gear ,suspension and chassis from about 2002 and older. It DOES require updated training to service them.

Any service shop that randomly replaces parts is not a qualified as they think and are "guessing" at the cause of the problem simply hoping that replacing parts will solve the problem..

If you find a shop that has ASE signage on their building and displays their employee's certification you will find one that is authorized to display the sign in which to do so they must employee at least one ASE certified mechanic (current ) or better and ASE Master technician.

I respect that you have DIY for 45 years then you should know that by your own posting a service procedure was done incorrectly or possible a part(s) was installed incorrectly.
Btw your 45 years experience I have been ASE Master Technician for 34 years and current

So you can take my advise or members that align with your thoughts..?
