Default Random Thunk/Bang When I Went Open Throttle...

Hi All,

I was driving earlier today and got stuck behind a slow driver in the left lane. I hit the gas pedal wide open to pass and there was a loud thunk/bang in the driveline. It sounded similiar to getting rear ended and the car jerked hard lol. The car has been driving fine ever since, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? It's a 2021 Turbo AWD if that helps. I'm not too concerned but it would be nice to hear if it's just a quirk on these cars.

Well aside from scanning your ECU my guess is you did a mild *Italian- Tune- Up ?
It may have also been the transmission locking up for the max holding pressure on the drum? While most never know this because they don't slap the drive-by-wire hard and quick to often and most never actually feel a true WOT because of a build in safety measure in the pedal assembly.

An Italian tune-up is an unconventional method of car maintenance that involves driving at high RPMs to clean out carbon deposits from the engine.

Hahahaha that's exactly what I was thinking. I drove the car back home for over 3 hours today and it was smooth as silk like it normally is. I'll just say it was a fluke .

if you have a Dignostic scanner I would have a look in the ECU just to be completely sure but your post sorta supports are theory.
