Default Problem with rotary console switch

Anybody had this problem? The rotary **** on my CX5 only works when rotated but the rocker operation no. I can use the touch screen OK but tilt the rotary switch N,S.E or W and zilch. Any ideas on a fix?
Thanks for any info
Harry

You can try doing a system reset or updating the software.
However, what you are describing sounds more like a hardware issue to me.
You don't say what year your CX-5 is, but these type of electrical ***** can easily become dirty.
Especially when located in motor vehicle in an area that is prone to dust dirt and spills.
You can try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner spray under the **** area and/or remove the entire ****/button unit and spray.
It can take several attempts, a lot of spray, and wait time (up to 30 minutes) to clean the contact areas on electrical *****.
If none of the above works, you'll likely need to replace the unit.

OK, thanks for your reply and I found the problem. I tried the battery disconnect but nfg so while I was playing with it I noticed two buttons either side of the rocker switch. One has the return arrow on it and on the other side an asterisk. The asterisk button appeared to be in the down position so I prised it gently up and walah everything back to normal, rocker switch is working OK. It seems my dog has laid/trod on it and jammed it so gave it a vacuum and a bit of spray and all good.

Ahhhh...a dog, much like toddlers, can gum up all sorts of things in vehicle.
At least it was an easy fix.
