Changing your Turbo should not have caused this DTC. So, my first suspect without knowing more details about the overall condition of your engine would be to; Clear code and run one engine cycle and see if it returns.
Properly clearly the code is to use a quality diagnostic scanner connected at the diagnostic connector of your Mazda and clearing the code. Also go to monitors and check their readiness state.

I have same issue after replace the turbo today. Finally found out the VVT solenoid connector is loose during the installation. You can check it via removing the turbo inlet. Hope this one can help.
While I admire the thought your method is not how you determine a faulty issue and in your case was simply , more or less lucky. You can disconnect supportive parts and it may indicate a fault of the part however it can support the real issues and simply cause more DTC to follow up on and check their cause of activation.
In other words not the best direction to go when attempting to solve a DTC and engine drivability issue.
