Noise when increasing speed - Bad Bearing or tires?
Yah the case manager said there was nothing in the history of the case regarding the gaskets, even though it's in the same invoice when we got the car diagnosed for the rear differential. I even mentioned the gaskets multiple times throughout the case history, yet they don't have anything on it. I made sure to ask before we dropped off the car, so I'll connect with the case manager tomorrow and see what the next steps would be to take. We had no choice to drop it off since we need the rear differential replaced asap.
my differential went on my 2022 at 25k miles. luckily i was still under warranty.
Mazda also just covered my front driver side headlight fan even though the warranty expired, BUT they did bang me out for $1,800 for new pads and rotors front and rear at 31K miles.

Damn that's way too much lmao. My dealers all quote around $1200-$1400. My mechanic does it all for $800.
i know same with my independent but they took care of the headlight fan so i ended up ahead
fixing headlight fan out of pocket at dealer wld have been $2800 and brake job at my independent wld have been $800. Pretty sure i won.

Long as your happy that's what counts.
There are to many variables to truly answer that. Unless members are willing to post the estimates. And 99.9% of all dealerships will give an estimate on an official invoice so there is no reason why members cant post them and just back out their personal information.
But as usual on forums member are just reluctant to post them. Maybe what they thought was the estimate included other services when they actually went back and read them again?

It would vary with the independent that you used and what area you live in.
My local small 2 bay garage has ASE certified techs (a former employee of mine and his brother) labor charges are nearly $50 an hour less than my large Mazda dealer and other local dealers.
No, I don't get a special labor rate, and I can bring in my own parts should I choose.
I used my Mazda dealer while my vehicle was under warranty but generally only use them now for Mazda trained specific needs.
Excluding accessories, I cannot bring in my own auto parts for them to use.
Don't get me wrong, my Mazda dealer is great, but they are 50 miles away.
But they have a very large facility to heat and maintain and pay wages for their ASE and Mazda certified techs.
