2016.5 CX-5 Grand Touring with 19" wheels. OEM tires are near the end at about 41k miles. Looking for recommendations for replacement:

smoother, less jouncy ride, quiet, higher wear miles

Very popular tire among knowledgeable CX-5 owners. I have the 17" version on my touring and they're great. FYI: General is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Contitnental in Europe. So they're like Conti's US subsidiary.

 

Wow, 41k miles on tires of that size is really impressive if you ask me. I'm not sure if they're available, but I would recommend anything Michelin. I replaced the factory 17" Yokohama Geolander's on my 2016 around 40k miles (about 5k miles more than I should've gotten out of the factory tires) with Michelin Defender All-Seasons. It's hard to tell going from the worn Yokohama's to the new Michelin's, but I feel the Michelins are quieter than the Yokohama's were when they were new. Not by much, but I think a little quieter. The Michelin's that I had installed have an estimated wear of 50-60k miles. Now having 20k miles on them, they honestly look like they are going to go to 60k, if not more.

So having said all of that, I would highly recommend anything Michelin.

 

Those Yokohama tires here in Florida dried out in two years with cracking and checking along the tread walls. Upgraded to Bridgestone Dueler H/L from Tire Rack. Better handling, good rain tire and quiet.

 

I just ordered Good Year Assurance Maxlife Tires. They're not out yet for the 19" size, but the other sizes got amazing reviews. They also carry a 85K tread warranty. The only Michelin tire that fits this car are the Premier LTX and they didn't get good reviews. My friend has them on his 2016 CX5, installed at 39K and he's at 57 with about half of the tread left.

 

Goodyear Assurance 80k ($130) are nice and smooth and quiet. I put some cheap Walmart tires ($58) on my CX-5 to prepare to trade-in and noisiest and bumpiest tires ever. Stay away from cheap tires if you plan on keeping the vehicle.

 

I actually ended up going with Continental Truecontact Tour tires that carry an 80K warranty.

 

Replaced the mediocre Toyo's at 27k miles ( 2016 GT). (bad side wall puncture on one so they all had to go) . The Continental True Contact's that are on now are worlds better. Much quieter and smoother. Grip is good enough and they work well in snow and wet. 13k miles and they show barely any wear.
