Default New to me 2020 cx5 transmission issues

Just bought this car a week ago and noticed some jerkyness and hesitation like many others. I did a reset and thst seems to have fixed the worst of the issues.

However, I'm still left with the issue of rpms randomly going up briefly every now and then when on the highway.

The video is with cruise control on and on flat surface. It'll do this at random times.

Any suggestions on what this could be before I get an appointment at the dealer in a couple weeks (I've got a slammed schedule)

Just to confirm, you are driving with sport mode turned off right?

I'm wondering if it's similar to Acura when you put the car in Accessory Mode and hold the gas pedal down for 30 seconds, and then it tells the car to re-learn your driving style and should help shift better.

Most platforms that is a "MYTH" about the relearn procedure. There are numerous reasons why this does not work.

I feel the same way. It seems to not do anything. I don't know if it applies to our cars either...

The drive by wire is only one item that reports to the ECU. It takes all the sensors and conditions to report to the ECU for the ECU to adapt to driver method changes.
Also many platforms the T/B has a resistance setting that if you do not apply more foot force you will not achieve an actual WOT operation. Mazda uses that in thier drive by wire foot throtle . You can see the % registration by accessing the OBDII connector and watching it under various foot actuations.
Even if you adjust in the ECU for a higher % with less TB angle it will not change the WOT position if more foot pressure force is not applied.

This said should explain why that procedure posted earlier to re-set the adaptive really can not fundamentally work.
