New to Forum - a few questions on CX-5
Hello All,
I just joined this forum. I recently bought a 2016 CX-5 (about 1-1/2 months ago). I've emailed Mazda about a few things but always get ridiculous non-working responses. So I'll ask the experts here. Any help or comments are appreciated!
1. Is there a hack available that will allow me to show the rear camera while the car is NOT in reverse? I didn't email Mazda this question for obvious reasons but when parking in a lot and making sure you're forward enough, its a pain to have to always put the car in reverse to see how far past the line that you are. I saw some info online about holding down the power and seek buttons then 92 I think but this is only for 2015 on down I believe.
2. I wanna put a front license plate on car and only see "dimples" in the fiberglass front (I can feel that there are some tapped standoffs behind but I would need to drill small holes first to allow a screw to pass thru to go into them on other side). I saw some frame holders online but they are offset (not in middle) and I like everything symmetrical so I don't like the look of those. There are a ton of CX-5 GT's on the road like mine but I've seen NONE that have a front license frame on them.
3. I have XM radio and HATE that the song names are cut off after a certain amount of characters on screen. Mazda tells me to push the DISP button to allow everything to scroll. There was scrolling available 15 years ago, why does this car not allow it on the radio? Maybe to impede concentration on the road (safety issue?). By the way, there is no such button on my 16 for this so I have no idea what they are telling me.
4. Is there factory holes to attach aftermarker floorboards (pre-drilled holes in chassis frame)? Mine has neither a roof rack or floorboards. The latter would make the GT I have classier I think. For my 2002 Ford Escape, I removed the old rusted floorboards and put new one on from some leading place online and they used the factory holes for mounting.
5. Is there an option that's not too expensive to add a front camera to this vehicle if its already pre-wired? I have the CX-5 2016 Grand Touring.
